Religious sighting claimed - A window to Jesus?
By Brad A. Greenberg, Staff Writer
May 6/05
Raymond Limon, 48, of San Bernardino stands outside his home, where he believes an image of Jesus Christ appeared in the curtains and shadows of the front window. He said the image first appeared on April 30.
SAN BERNARDINO - With the buzz of the unexplainable, scores of pilgrims have flocked this week to see the face of Jesus Christ on a pair of cream-colored curtains.
Each night for the past week, people stopped outside 1166 W. Magnolia Ave. and stared. They leaned against fences, sat in beach chairs and focused on the sight like children watching fireworks explode.
"It's amazing,' said Rosemary Aguilar, 41, who lives across the street. "There is no explanation for words. You have to see it. When my son told me, I didn't believe him. I thought he was taking something or drinking.'
The soft shadows on Raymond Limon's family-room window create a subtle face. The image has been visible only at night and when the family room has been lighted. Even then, seeing Jesus requires some imagination. Inside the house, nothing has been constructed to project the shadow.
"I don't know what Jesus looks like, but I definitely see an image,' said a Catholic sister who stopped by Tuesday. She declined to be identified.
The sighting is not the first apparition in this neighborhood. Eleven years ago, someone discovered wrinkles on a tree that many believed were the image of the Virgin Mary.
At the time, Juan Morillo lived several blocks from the tree on Turrill Avenue, which is one block from Limon's home. After seeing the apparition, Morillo, now 57, bought the property, moved into the house and built a shrine.
Tables with prayer candles surround the tree. A picture of Mary sits where the trunk forks and is flanked by flowers. Behind it, a crucifix hangs on a tree cut to be four feet tall and shaped like a cross. Several stools and benches rest beneath a 25-foot-long aluminum roof.
Raymond and Maria Limon, who attend St. Anthony Catholic Church in San Bernardino, don't see the Virgin Mary in the tree's bark. Indeed, they have doubted people who claim to see Jesus in a sidewalk stain or the Lady of Guadalupe on a grilled cheese sandwich.
"People sometimes will see what they want to see,' said Maria Limon, a 47-year-old clerk at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
But Maria Limon, who is separated from her 48-year-old husband, said what has appeared in his window is different. She thinks God is telling them to reconcile their marriage.
"When you think with your head, you know it is just a curtain and the light,' she said. "But when you think with your heart, you know it is a message from God not just to us but to the community at large.'
The community, she and her husband said, is being told to stop the violence that has made these streets dangerous for decades. David Limon was murdered in 1978 two doors from his brother Raymond's house.

Dragons in the Tibet Sky
The Epoch Times
Aug 07, 2005
A photo of two peculiar dragon-shaped objects taken from a plane flying over Tibet's Himalayas piqued many users' interest when displayed on a Chinese website. The photographer is an amateur.
On June 22, 2004, the photographer went to Tibet's Amdo region to attend the Qinghai-to-Xizang Railroad laying ceremony, and then took a plane from Lhasa to fly back inland. When flying over the Himalaya's, he accidentally caught these two "dragons" in a picture that he took. He called these two objects "the Tibet dragons."
Looking at the photo, these two objects appear to have the characteristics of crawling creatures: The bodies seem to be covered by scales, the backs have spine-like protuberances, and also they have gradually thinning rear ends. Although the photo caught only a portion of the entire scene, it was sufficient create the appearance of two gigantic dragons flying in the clouds.
This photo, shown on some websites such as post.baidu.com and other forums, aroused the website visitors' curiosity. One person commented, "No wonder that China is the homeland of the dragon! Nature is truly mysterious and powerful, it can always produce spectacular sights beyond people's expectations."
"Is it really true? Is it possible there is an ancient civilization that we don't know about is preserved in places that are sparsely populated?"
"It really looks like the dragons in fables, and I really hope it is."
Certainly, most website visitors hoped that someone could confirm the authenticity of the dragons in the photo.
In Chinese fairy tales, the dragon is a kind of rare heavenly creature. Fables say that it can conceal or reveal itself. It ascends to heaven in the spring breeze and dives and hides in deep water in the autumn wind. It can promote clouds and bring about rain. It also became the symbol of imperial authority later on; all emperors of previous dynasties self-designated as dragons, utensils were also decorated with dragons.
Culturally, the dragon is the Chinese ancestors' totem. Nearly all races in China had fables and stories with dragons as the main subject, such as dragon boat races, the dragon lantern dance to celebrate holidays, sacrificial offerings to the dragons to implore timely wind and rain for good crops.
Whether this kind of creature really exists is still an unsolved riddle. In the previous dynasties in China, there had been many documents recording eyewitness accounts of magical dragons. The most amazing events are the various "falling dragons," dragons that suddenly fell to the ground under peculiar circumstances, and were witnessed by many. A relatively recent tale occurred in the puppet Manchuria regime in August, 1944. A black dragon fell to the ground at the Chen Family's Weizi Village, about 9.4 miles northwest of Zhaoyuan County, on the south shore of the Mudan River (the old name of a section of Songhua River) in Heilongjiang province. The black dragon was on the verge of death. The eyewitness said that this creature had a horn on its head, scales covering its body, and had a strong fishy smell that attracted numerous flies.
The records from previous dynasties also mentioned the connection between the emergence of these kinds of mysterious creatures, "dragons," and the transition of dynasties on earth. The appearance of Tibet's magical dragon invites our curiosity and imagination.

Dragon-shaped Flying Object Appears in Jilin Province
The Epoch Times
Sep 12, 2005
An image of the phenomenon captured on an observer's picture-phone (The Epoch Times)
A closer view of the image (The Epoch Times)
At about 6 p.m. on August 6, two students walked out of their library in Jilin University and looked up. "Look! A flying dragon appears in the sky!" A student named Li captured an image of the dragon on his picture-phone, providing the second instance of photo documentation of a dragon flying over China so far this summer. "When I was walking out of the library, I saw a bright, animal-shaped object flying in the sky, heading southeast. It was incredibly dazzling, just like a gigantic dragon. I immediately took a picture of this unusual event on my cellphone," said excitedly Li, a student at Jilin University, Jilin province.
"Flying Dragon" at Dusk
Li captured what he believes to be a dragon on his phone camera and began passing it around the University two days later. In the middle of the photo is a distant-looking dragon-shaped object, complete with four limbs and a tail. As they were leaving the library that evening, Li's girlfriend Xiaobin suddenly yelled, "Look! A flying dragon appears in the sky!" A glowing, red dragon-shaped flying object streaked across the sky, illuminating the evening sky just after the sun had disappeared from sight.
Gone in Minutes
Li estimates the object to have been over ten meters long. It was at the altitude of an airplane but was much bigger and flying very fast. At first the flying object radiated a low metallic light. It then became more and more dazzling over the next two minutes before it disappeared into the southeast. "Seeing the flying object, I instantly took out my cellphone and captured its picture," Li said emotionally.
"I Saw the Dragon that Evening"
Li was not the only person to see the dragon that evening. Law students Li Bing and Zhao saw it also. Li Bing said, "When I was leaving the library, I heard a girl yelling 'Look! A dragon is flying in the clouds!' I looked up, and I saw a red dragon-shaped object flying southeast. After just a minute, it flew away." Zhao added, "The sky was completely illuminated at that moment."
What People Are Saying About the "Flying Dragon"
Not everyone agreed with Li that what he had on his cellphone was in fact a picture of a dragon, although everyone wanted to see it. Some students believed the picture to be a UFO or a wave pattern of turbulent clouds at sunset. One student said that it might be formed by rays of light when sunlight reflected off a flying object like an airplane. Everyone has expressed his or her own opinion, but they could not come to a unified conclusion
Observatory Sees Nothing Unusual
Was it really a dragon? One staff member from a nearby observatory says nothing unusual was observed that night. He says that he cannot confirm the sighting because he did not see it himself and not find out relevant documentation.
Earlier this summer, a man traveling by airplane into China from the Tibet region took a picture of what he believes were two peculiar dragon-shaped objects flying in the clouds. Dragons in the East, unlike those in the West, are thought to be benign, powerful creatures [1].

Mysterious dwarfish alien brutally murdered in Russia's remote village
Alien, dubbed as Alioshenka, was murdered
Researchers looking into the case of “Alionshenka the Alien” have arrived at a sensational conclusion: the mysterious creature did not catch his death of cold as previously thought. They believe the supposed alien was killed.
“He didn’t die from natural causes,” said Vadim Chernobrov, a coordinator with the public research center Kosmopoisk. “We found out that his skull had been fractured,” Chernobrov added.
The mysterious dwarf was found near the town of Kyshtym of the Chelyabinsk region. Stanislav Samoshkin is a morbid anatomist who performed autopsy on the body of the dwarf in a local hospital. He was the first to claim that the creature was a non-human being.
“The human skull consists of six bones. The skull of that creature was made up of four bones,” Samoshkin said.
Russian and foreign researchers have been trying to unravel the mystery of the “Uralian alien” for eleven years. The story looks like a detective novel in progress. The body of the dwarf was reportedly stolen. The key witness to the case, an old woman who actually named the dwarf “Alioshenka”, died a sudden death.
Lost in translation
The dead body of Alioshenka disappeared. In fact, the investigator assigned to the case reportedly handed the body to some perpetrators who walked away with it.
“They introduced to me as ufologists. I was pretty sure they were real scientists, it never occurred to me they could be the impostors,” Major (Ret.) Vladimir Bendlin said.
A TV crew from Japan was filming a documentary on the Kyshtym alien at the time. The Japanese tried to buy out the remains of the dwarf. However, their attempts ended in failure after some local journalist got the wrong meaning of a few words said in English by Deguchi Masao, the producer with the TV crew.
“I remember talking to Deguchi Masao about the sum they could have paid to a person who had the mummy of the dwarf at the time. The figures mentioned at that meeting ranged from two hundred up to one thousand dollars. We were talking in English. A local woman journalist must have got the figures wrong. She printed an article in her paper, saying that the Japanese were ready to pay $200,000 for the stolen creature. The article was soon reprinted by other papers. The Japanese didn’t have such a sum on them so they had to refute the announcement. As a result, the deal fell through, and the owner of the mummy stepped into dark,” Chernobrov said.
The body vanishes
Fortunately, the police videotaped the body of the dwarf before it was stolen. Major Bendlin managed to locate some people who had seen the “alien” while he was still among the living.
The dwarf was reportedly found near the village of Kaolinovy by Tamara Prosvirina. She told her neighbors that she had found a “handsome boy called Alioshenka.” The neighbors believed the old woman was raving again. The point is she had been previously treated for a mental disorder. The neighbors called an ambulance, which took the woman to hospital. One of the paramedics later described the object lying in bed in the woman’s apartment as a “cat wrapped up in rags.”
The woman was admitted to a mental hospital. Meanwhile, her relatives leased the apartment to one Vladimir Nurtdinov. He came across the dead body the size of a cat while cleaning up the apartment one day.
“I was about to throw it away like a piece of trash. But that thing looked like a real alien, I kind of liked it. Finally, I put it on the garage roof,” Nurtdinov said.
The sun desiccated and tanned the body of Alioshenka to the utmost. Then Nurtdinov hid the body in a garage. Later Nurtdinov was taken into police custody under suspicion of stealing electrical wire. He promptly told the police about the strange object hidden in the garage.
Below is an account by Tamara, the old woman’s daughter-in-law, who claims to have seen Alioshenka while he was still alive:
“I used to visit my mother-in-law twice a week. She was living on her own. On that day I brought her foodstuffs just like I did before. I was about to leave when she told me: ‘We’d better give some food to the baby too.’ Then she showed me to the bed. I took a closer look at it and saw him. He was on top the bed, squeaking some funny sounds. I could see his mouth shaped like a small pipe. His tiny scarlet tongue was moving. I also spotted two teeth inside. In a way, he looked like a little baby. His head was brown, and his body looked gray. I didn’t see any eyelids. He didn’t have any genitals either. His head looked like an onion. And the pupils of his eyes were widening and narrowing just like the cat’s eyes do when you turn on the light and turn it off again several times in a row. The fingers on his hands and feet were pretty long. I only bothered to ask my mother-in-law where on earth she’d got the monster from. She told me she’d found him in the forest. She kept calling him ‘Alioshenka.’ She gave him a candy and he started sucking on it. I thought it was some kind of animal.”
Researchers believe that Tamara’s account is a true story. She has been repeating it word by word for years without adding up any new details.
“He was giving off that smell, you know, one of a kind. You can’t take it for any other smell. Actually, the smell was pretty agreeable yet somewhat nauseous at the same time. And he didn’t pass any liquid or solid waste matter. He was sweating, and that was all. I saw the mother-in-law wipe the sweat off his face with a rag,” Tamara added.
The old woman died in a hit-and-run accident in August 1999. She was knocked down by a car just a few days before a team of researchers arrived in the town from Moscow. Researchers phoned her relatives shortly before the accident occured. Academician Mark Milkhiker was going to put Prosvirina in a state of hypnosis, a method used for helping the patient recover information buried in his subconscious.
Prosvirina’s relatives are confident that the death of the old woman was not an accident.
“You can hardly see a vehicle crossing this town during the day. Where the hell did that car come from?” Tamara asked.
