Mr. Bear:
I once got this gigantic bear from a toy
store, and ended giving it to my son-who just adored it! It would be quite a
funny sight, to see him crawl into the lap of the stuffed animal who was about
ten times bigger than he was! The bear
took up residence on his top bunker, that way I would keep him out of the way of
cleaning all the time.
One night, a friend of mine was over and
we were watching some movies. we ended up chatting afterward, and he started to
make fun of 'Mr. Bear.' I told him not to do that, in a very serious tone, for
it would hurt the bears feelings-joking, of course!
That night, after he left, I checked up
on my sleeping son, and crawled into bed myself. I always left the door open of
my room to be able to hear and see out into the hallway. At around 3:00 am, I
woke up, and thought I had heard a noise. I raised my head and looked toward the
hallway, my son's night-light, lit it up pretty well. I saw a shadow, as if
something was moving around in my son's room, and got up to investigate. All was
normal, and my son was in a deep sleep.
I crawled back into bed, and then the
phone rang-it was my friend, stammering and stuttering about seeing something in
his window. I told him to call me back when the sun rose and he would make
sense, and hung up.
The next day, he called me back, and
explained to me exactly what had happened....
He had gotten up for a drink of water,
and as he returned to his room, he noticed something at his window. Focusing his
eyes, he saw two red glowing eyes and a shape of what had seemed to be of a
bear! I just replied in a sly way, "See? Told you not to hurt his
feelings..."
It was 'Hi' and 'Bye' Mr. Bear after
that! Could the shadow I had witnessed at that same hour-be that of Mr.
Bear?
Be good to your toys
children...
