Hello James,
I have a story, "The
Final Visit". I had a female cat that had passed away early May 2001 of kidney
failure. Her name was "Callie" and she was 17 years and 8 months old when she
died. I thought it was all over and we buried her in our small pet cemetary in
our Ozark woods. But on a hot summer day I had an experience which I didn't
expect. I went outside to check on my cat "Professor". It was very hot and
sunny, and she was laying under the long lawn chair. As I bent down to check on
her when I felt something rub against my rear end, like a cat would do! I
thought I heard a quiet "meow" and was looking for my other cat "Red Buttons". I
found out that "Red Buttons" was inside all the time! For a moment I thought of
our resident ghost cat "Katze Baule", but it wasn't him. I had a very strange
feeling about the experience. It was rather bitter-sweet. I began to realize who
came to visit me that hot, sunny, summer afternoon in July, it was "Callie"! I
feel so sure that "Callie" was the cat that came by to say her final goodbyes to
me. She was a gentle and quiet cat and even her meow was quiet, like the meow I
heard, unlike the meows I've heard many times around the house. This meow was
different.
"Callie" was a
gentle spirit and I could feel her presents that afternoon. It was bitter-sweet.
I was happy that she had come to say goodbye to me, but sad that she was leaving
to go to her just rewards. I've never seen, heard or felt "Callie" again. She
lives in my heart and memory now, but our resident ghost cat "Katze Baule" still
makes himself known to me and the family. He's a "make yourself at home" kind of
cat! Not at all like "Callie" a sensitive, quiet and gentle cat, and I'm very
happy to have known her, that her life has touched mine.
Rest In Peace
Callie, you deserve it!
I hope this story helps your
site. Talk to you later.
