A Rat or
Elf?
Once, I was sitting in the
downstairs balcony, and saw something that I'm still not sure of as of this day.
If it weren't that my grandmother saw it too, I would have admitted myself
"nuts" right there and then, and instead of telling you this short tale, would
be "in a better place" with padded walls, and tripping on meds.
:O)
It was mid-afternoon and we sat
quietly on the balcony, until my grandmother broke the silence with a question
towards me; "Have you seen the rats we have living here in the garden?" she
asked me, her eyes never leaving the garden. "No, not really," I answered back,
"But I've seen the holes they've dug as homes."
Just then a "rat" sped across the
"mini-pathway" that was made of concrete and covered with marble tile, which
seperated both sides of the garden. We watched it run across, when suddenly it
took the shape of what seemed to be a "little green man." [kind of like a small
child-but in miniature]. "It" then, still running, and what seemed as paying us
no mind, kept running until it reached a hole and "jumped right
in."
My grandmother-her eyes still on
the hole where it was last seen, then proceeded to ask me if I had seen "It." I
told her "Yes" and that was the end of the conversation--"It" was never
mentioned again.
