The White
Wolf
Folklore
James was an average man.He,
like everyone else, had hobbies.
James hobbies was hunting. In fact,
he did live in the woods, so
hunting suited him well. One day, his friends
told him of a
bounty for wolves because they were eating peoples livestock.
They told him the amount was three dollars per hide. Back then,
three dollars was a lot of money. James shot about every wolf in
the
area, consequently, making himself rich.He was so pleased
with his wealth,
he vowed never to kill a wolf again because
wolves made him prosperous. One
day, many years later, James
heard the rumor a white wolf was running around
the country side
killing peoples animals. People said they tried to shoot
the
wolf, but the bullets had no effect. Forgetting his own promise,
James took the initiative to hunt the white wolf. He tied a cow to
a
tree, and he sat underneath a nearby tree with his rifle. James
waited
for the wolf.
About a week later James' friends found
the starved cow
still alive, untouched. They then found James. He was dead.
He
was lying underneath the same tree with his arms folded, with his
throat tore open. There was no sign of a struggle.
